I retired from the University of Minnesota and knew I would like to work on a part-time basis.

The packers at Sort Toss Pack are a great group to work with. I also help out in the store.

I am retired and spent most of my career in both the hospitality industry and administration for non-profit organizations.

I have a college degree in social work / psychology.  

With this type of background, I am able to demonstrate understanding and compassion for clients who are often overwhelmed with their move and/or have a difficult experience. I especially enjoy assisting seniors/older adults who can also have a difficult time because of the emotional aspect of leaving their home after many years and the uncertainty of change.

Working at Sort Toss Pack with a team of professional packers, movers, and administrators is very satisfying.

Before I came to work for Sort Toss Pack, I noticed many of the people helped by Sort Toss Pack were moving because of difficult changes in their lives, and I wanted to be part of the encouragement and joy they needed.  

We don’t always take help from our children, grandchildren, or nosy neighbors. Sometimes, help is easier to take from a stranger. That’s how I feel I fit into our customer’s life change. An older stranger who can help them sort “stuff” and look for some peace and joy in the life changes.

A retired telecom industry engineer, I own Custom Strings where I am a professional racquet stringer for tennis, racquetball, and squash. I have lived in Shoreview for over 40 years. I am married to Tom. We have a blended family of five children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

This gave me time to decide what to do when I grow up, and since I tend to be organized and have already downsized my home, Sort Toss Pack gives me the opportunity to help others with the same goal.

My priorities are my family and being an awesome grandma, so the flexible schedule with Sort Toss Pack works perfectly for me.
